Very few of my photos from the Nippersink paddle(s) turned out...except for a couple of turtles. They are the guardians of the creek. What they lack in speed, they make up for in charm, I think.
This one cracks me up -- the expression on its face is so come hither.

This is a great creek to paddle as long as it's not too hot, and the water levels are up. Great views, big sky, some mini rapids (very mini!) and lots of twists and turns. My favorite stretch is through a wooded section, but there are also some beautiful stretches through prairie and stands of oaks in the near distance.
Now, in an urelated but no less time consuming note, I'm off to battle tomato blight. I think I've found some organic remedies to try. What did we ever do before google?
